Promoting Regulatory and Quality Engineering Excellence |
for Information Technology Equipment Back to Overview Pt. 2 Selection of Critical ITE Subassemblies and Components |
This flowchart illustrates a typical strategy to ensure that critical components meet final system safety regulations. The example uses U.L. approval, but many other agencies, such as CSA (Canadian/North America), Metlabs, TUV, etc., can be used to satisfy safety requirements as required by OSHA. |
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Computers used in medical applications, aviation, and other situations where failure could result in imminent danger, are subject to more stringent regulations than those referenced in these pages. Regulations often allow room for subjective decisions which may result in different outcomes in evaluation of compliance, when conducted by different organizations and/or individuals. |
